Artist Statement

Anders Ove is a Pittsburgh-born senior pursuing a BFA with a concentration in sculpture and expanded media. They are fascinated with movement as well as the concept of value, and have a tendency to work at a smaller scale. Golden Globe is a kinetic jewelry piece meant to be held by the “wearer”. One hand holds the stirrups on either end of the support beam pinching the piece between the fingers, while the other hand spins the tiny brass and copper globe. This piece gifts the user an experience, provided it solely occupies their attention.
