There Once Was a Little Girl
By Megan Smith
There once was a little girl who did not want to grow up
She dreamed of flying off to Neverland
There once was a little girl who dreamed of having her own horses
Ones white as snow, dark as midnight, red as a glittering fire
There once was a little girl who created her own kingdom
Out of branches and vines, snow and ice
There once was a little girl who climbed trees
So high, she imagined she lived in the sky
There once was a little girl who imagined
That she lived at the castle at the end of the lane
There once was a little girl who dreamed up stories
That she hoped to write down one day
There once was a little girl who wanted the world
But the world would never be enough for her
