If Science Could Talk
If Science Could Talk
Taylor Smith
I sat down and read every single number
in the Unified Thread Standard, watched
each cell tell me a different excuse for its
own being. My minimum is higher, now;
I have rejected the null hypothesis, carved
data in the calculator and spat out a foiled
plan. Nuts and bolts and screws make up
my cereal, boiled oats and tangential
chickpeas, all up in my system, after all
I’m a computer’s daughter, or a daughter’s
computer. The Unified Thread Standard said
These all matter, these are all good options
and I said You’re a chart you don’t even
know what it means to matter
